## Quality Assurence

In this station we learn about how to use several percision measurement tools and how to precily read metric and english riles. First we read information about the tools, how they are used where they are used and why they are used. Then we apply our knowlege and measure shafts (Middle Picture). Each shaft is longer or shorter then the other and we are required to measure these shafts. After we have completed the Lap then we take a test on the information we have learned. one of the tools I used is pictured below. Some of the other tools I used are pictured throughtout this page.

## Skills used

During this station i aquired many skills

Basic Measurement

· Use a metric rules to measure an outside length of a part

· Use a decimal inch rule to measure a length

· Use a rule graduated in common fractions of an inch to measure a length Use a tape measure to measure a length

· Convert between common inch fractions and decimal fractions

· Convert between U.S. customary units and S.I. metric

Precision measurement

· Calibrate a dial caliper

· Use a caliper to measure an outside length of a part

· Use a caliper to measure an inside dimension of a part

· Use a digital caliper to measure an outside length of a part

· Use a digital caliper to measure an inside length of a part

· Use an outside micrometer graduated in English units to measure the length of a part

· Use an outside micrometer graduated in metric units to measure the length of a part

· Use a micrometer to measure the outside diameter of a cylindrical part

Dimensional Gagging

· Measure length using a dial indicator

· Measure the length of a shaft using a digital indicator

## Justification

Learning about theses tools and using the tools I have aquired many skills. I can now properly read metric and english rules, convert measurments between the S.I. metric and the U.S. costomery system. Many of these skills I can use later in industy.
