Hershey KISSES weight

This was a project that involved analyzing weights of Hershey Kisses to guarantee the quality of each kiss. The introduction of this project was to watch a video on the process of how the chocolate Kisses are made. Then we began with an introduction to Statistical Process Control (SPC). I then was given a word problem that I had to solve in order to find out how many Kisses needed to be weighed. I found out we had to weigh fifty individual Kisses, to a thousandth of a gram, that are taken during ten shifts. After I weighed them I furthered my knowledge on the different types of variation and the different charts to help organize data.  Next, I used Excel to help compute the average, the range, average of the average, and the average of the range of the kisses weight. I also documented the lower control limit (LCL), upper control limit (UCL). This process was completed to help ensure the quality of the
Hershey's Kisses measured by the weight.
Attached below is an R Chart which is a line graph showing the relationship between the weight of the kisses and the work shift in which they were made. Also, attached below is an X BAR Chart which is a line graph that shows the average range of kisses and the work shift they were produced in. Lastly, attached below is a C&E Chart showing the factors that could cause the weight variation of the Kisses.
